Assembled with me for departure:  Jess, Rykinna, Aliza Jane, Cody, Billie Jo and Andrew. The smiles were easy, because everyone was still cracking up...
Bruce:  "Let's get the dogs into the picture."
Billie Jo:  "This is before we had to eat them!"
As you can see, the dogs were not amused! I think old Jess and Rykinna took turns on the toboggan. Billie Jo and I both brought "pack horses" (Cody and Andrew).

Bruce:  "How does one LIMP in snowshoes!?"

Looking back with a quarter-mile completed.

Looking forward with almost four miles to go.

Northward across the Galena bridge from the main road.

Down the main road over the Howard Creek bridge.

Cody and crew used our snowshoe trail to minimize postholing.

Beyond the upper roadblock after three miles. The rest will be on foot.
He would be stepping deeper if not careful to stay on our inbound tracks.

We decided on the low/wet route this time. We went in on the high/dry route but my knee was complaining and did not want to climb. Andrew chose to stay dry a little longer. I just jumped in. I thought we were almost done.

All that work (on the log) for nothing... had to wade some anyway.

Back at the Bronco after 3.5 hours. This is Andrew's new pride & joy and our off-road (hopefully) more capable ride over Jacks Pass and MAYBE that slide!

We were out well in front, so we cleaned up Cody & crew's ride and left a calling card, then bolted for a giant burger at Prospector's in Gold Bar. We left word with friends at Skyko 2 that they were on their way, and confirmed that all were safely out about two hours later.
